THE BEAUTIFUL BEACHES OF PORTH NANVEN & PROGO ARE JUST 20 MINUTES WALK FROM WILLOUGHBY - The beautiful sandy beaches of Porth Nanven and Progo, which are 20 minutes walk from the cottage and are also accessible by car. This site has been designated by the National Trust as an area of national scientific importance due to the unusual rock formations. Mousehole is also nearby (8 miles). The beautiful and charming harbour village made famous by its Xmas lights.
GOLDEN BEACHES & TURQUOISE SEAS AT NEARBY SENNEN COVE - Sennen Cove is reached by a sharply descending road. Sennen Coves' main beach & adjoining Gwenver Beach afford golden sands, turquoise seas and breathtaking surf. The beaches are 2 of the most famous body boarding venues in Europe. Both beaches are idyllic and are perfect for bathing. Lifeguards are on duty throughout the summer months. Sennen Village with its traditional Cornish granite church & world famous First and Last Inn, stands alongside the main road, not far from Lands End.
POLDARK COUNTRY - Between St Just and Pendeen you will discover the old mining hamlet of Botallack, world famous for featuring in the popular Poldark TV series. Enjoy a drink in the The Queen's Arms Inn in Botallack. The well preserved engine houses of the 19th Century Mine at Botallack stand halfway down a rugged cliff.
THE BEAUTIFUL LAND'S END PENINSULAR - The South Coast of the Lands End Peninsula, between Penzance and Porthcurno is a mixture of dramatic granite cliffs and rocky coves. The most beautiful and accessible of these valley coves are Lamorna Cove and Penberth. Penberth is to be found to the east of Logan Rock, below the village of Treen and Lamorna Cove is set at the mouth of a wooded, panoramic flowered valley.
Zennor is a village on the rugged north coast of the Lands End Peninsula, set within an ancient site of Iron Age fields between high moorland and the magnificent sea cliffs of Zennor Head.
Porthgwarra Cove is to be found at the southern tip of the Lands End Peninsula, below coastal heathland. To the west lie the magnificent golden cliffs of Chair Ladder at Gwennap Head, the most southerly point on the Lands End Peninsula. Porthcurno Valley flows seamlessly down to beautiful Porthcurno Bay with it's golden beach. Porthcurno Bay is set between a popular outdoor theatre at The Minack and Treryn Dinas, a magnificent granite headland crowned by Logan Rock.
GOLF AVAILABLE NEARBY - Cape Cornwall Golf Course is nearby Willoughby. This par 70 Golf Course affords spectacular ocean views and is surrounded by iron and bronze age settlements as well as old mining remains. The course is a challenge for the club golfer and low handicap golfer alike. Hazards include lies on existing undulating land, dry stone walls (some of which cross fairways) and bunkers. ACCOMMODATION
Willoughby is a self catering holiday cottage (recently completely refurbished throughout) sleeping 6 guests and is let from Saturday to Saturday, keys are made available from 3.00pm onwards on the first day of your holiday and the property is to be vacated by 10.00am on the last day of your holiday. Willoughby is presented to a very high standard, which will appeal to discerning guests. The property benefits from new double glazing throughout and central heating. During the refurbishment every room has been replastered and finished to a high standard with integral ceiling spotlights and attractive wooden or new tiled flooring.
KITCHEN : New fitted kitchen with ceiling spotlights and new slate tiled floor with double glazed window and door to small enclosed rear courtyard. The kitchen is very well presented and equipped and has a range of new fitted units, an integral stainless steel electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, microwave, kettle, toaster and an ample supply of cutlery, crockery, pots & pans.
LOUNGE / DINER : The lounge/diner is spacious and has attractive new wooden flooring throughout with matching beams, ceiling spotlights, feature Cornish stone fireplace with wood burner, central heating and double glazed window and door making the room feel light and airy. There is a new matching leather suite, coffee table, 26" LCD Flat Screen TV, DVD, VCR. There is a quality dining table with six chairs in the dining area. Off the lounge/diner is a reception area with coat rack. There is a new wooden staircase with bannister leading to the upstairs landing.
