PAR BEACH - The rugged southern coastline of Cornwall is home to the clear waters of St Austell Bay, where lies Par. Par Beach is ideal for adults and children alike - it is noted for safe bathing and as one of the largest beaches in South Cornwall there is plenty of room to run around. The sea is also an excellent area for windsurfing and all manner of water sports.There's lots of space on the beach for fun and games, sand castles or just plain lazing around.

THE COASTPATH - The Cornwall Coastal Footpath runs through Par Beach. You can easily walk along the cliffs to the charming fishing cove of Polkerris and enjoy a leisurely drink at the Rashleigh Inn on the beach before taking a gentle stroll back to your accommodation.

LOCAL TOWNS AND VILLAGES - The following towns and villages are just a short drive from Par and are well worth a visit: Fowey (a quaint harbour town lined with shops and restaurants galore, with a unique charm all of its own), Mevagissey (a delightful unspoilt fishing village with working harbour), St Austell (an old market town with fantastic views over the bay), Truro ( Cornwalls' only City), Newquay (the surfing capital of the UK, and home to Jamie Olivers Restaurant), Bodmin (located on the western edge of the Bodmin Moor and home to the infamous Bodmin Gaol), Padstow (perched on Cornwalls' North Coast and home to Rick Steins Restaurant), Wadebridge (on the banks of the River Camel and gateway to the Camel Trail).
